Flashed up in my wildest dreams the dark red blood streams
Stretching out like vast cracked ice
The veins of you the veins of me like great forest trees
Pushing through and on and in
Gliding like a satellite in the broken night
And when I wake you're there I'm saved
Your love is life piled tight and high set against the sky
That seems to balance on it's own
Sing out sing out, the silence only eats us from the inside up
I meant no harm but I only get to say these words too late
Wake up wake up, dreaming only leads to more and more nightmares
Snap out of it you said it in a way that showed you really cared
Kind of self-explanatory if you've read the fic, but it has to do with Riku's nightmares and how Sora tries to help him through them.

Well Mother, what the war did to my legs and to my tongue,

It’s really quite pleasant except for the smell
Riku trying to get along with his mother again.

I'm accustomed to a smooth ride
Or maybe I'm a dog who's lost its bite

I don't expect to sleep through the night
Some people say a lie's a lie's a lie
But I say why
Why deny the obvious child?
I've been waking up at sunrise
I've been following the light across my room
I watch the night receive the room of my day
Some people say the sky is just the sky
But I say
Why deny the obvious child?
This is more of a general song, I guess. It has to do with the "So what comes next?" feeling that Riku seems to have.

I cannot find a way
To describe it

All I do is hide
I wish that it would just go away

All the pain I thought I knew
All these thoughts lead back to you
Back to what was never said
Back and forth inside my head
I can't handle this confusion
I'm unable

I feel like I'm all alone
All by myself
I need to get around this

I don't want them to hurt you
If I show you, I don't think you'd understand
Cos no one understands
Riku wants to tell Sora about his problems, but in a way, he also doesn't because he's afraid of Sora's reaction.

Now I lay me down not to sleep
I just get tangled in the sheets
I swim in sweat three inches deep
Just lay back and claim defeat
Chapter read and lesson learned
Lids down
I count sheep
I count heartbeats
The only thing that counts
Is that I won't sleep
I count down
I look around
Who needs sleep?
Well you're never gonna get it

Be happy with what you get
And there's a guy that's been awake since the second world war
More of Riku's nightmare problem.

Riku finally going over to Sora's house.

I'm on a train, but there's no one at the helm
And there's a demon in my brain that starts to overwelm
And there it goes, my last chance for peace
Lay me down, but I get no release

I try to swim beneath
I try to keep awake
But I, I can feel this narcolepsy slide
Into another nightmare
And there's a demon in my head who starts to play
A nightmare tape loop of what went wrong yesterday
And I hold my breath 'till it's more than I can take
And I close my eyes and dream that I'm awake
Riku's nightmares.

I would dial the numbers
Just to listen to your breath
I would stand inside my hell
And hold the hand of death

To ease this precious ache

I'll be home soon
Riku and Sora. Riku's part is the verses, and Sora's part is the chorus.

Sarcastic mister know it all

This lonely view
Soft spoken with a broken jaw
Step outside but not to brawl

I'll make it to the moon if I have to crawl
Riku deciding not to tell Sora, and the two different scars.
